Stitching Stories Exhibition – Arddangosfa Pwytho Straeon

Yn ddiweddar, daeth yr elfen Pwytho Straeon o’r Prosiect Ein Cymdogaeth Werin a ariennir gan Gronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri i ben gydag arddangosfa wythnos o hyd yn Neuadd Gymunedol Maenclochog. Roedd y cwilt digidol rhyngweithiol a grëwyd gyda’r gymuned trwy gyfres o weithdai gyda Celfyddydau SPAN a’r artist tecstilau Nia Lewis yn cael ei arddangos. I gyd-fynd â’r gwaith pwytho a thecstilau creadigol, bu Penny D Jones yn cofnodi ac yn casglu straeon ac atgofion lleol i’w gosod ar y cwilt. Roedd yr arddangosfa hefyd yn cynnwys darnau unigryw o waith celf gan blant lleol. Denodd yr arddangosfa nifer dda iawn o bobl gyda dros 350 o ymwelwyr o’r ardal leol a thu hwnt yn dod at ei gilydd i brofi a rhannu eu treftadaeth a’u diwylliant arbennig. Bydd y cwilt yn cael ei arddangos mewn gwahanol leoliadau yn ystod y prosiect, gyda recordiadau hefyd ar gael i wrando arnynt ar-lein yn y dyfodol agos. Os hoffai eich cymuned gynnig lleoliad i arddangos y cwilt hoffem glywed gennych chi. Cysylltwch â Sophie Jenkins sophiej@planed.org.uk am ragor o wybodaeth.

The Stitching Stories element of the Heritage Lottery funded Preseli Heartlands Project recently cumulated in a week long exhibition at` Community Hall. On display was the interactive digital quilt that had been created with the community through a series of workshops with SPAN Arts and textile artist Nia Lewis. In tandem with the creative stitching and textile work, Penny D Jones worked recording and collecting local stories and memories to attach to the quilt. The exhibition also included stand alone pieces of artwork by local children. The exhibition was greatly attended and celebrated with 350+ visitors from the local area and further afield coming together to experience and share their special heritage and culture. The quilt will be exhibited in different locations over the course of the project, with recordings also available to listen to online in the near future. If your community would like to host the quilt we’d very much like to hear from you. Please contact Sophie Jenkins sophiej@planed.org.uk for more information.
